After observing Lou Dong Zang’s reactions, He Guan laughed so hard that his body trembled, “I was just teasing you. I have taken care of everything, except for your injured finger, which is injured now.”

“… I’ll call you when the soup is ready. You have to just come and taste it. I promise, my cooking skills are top-notch.”

While speaking, He Guan had been focusing on Lou Dong Zang’s hand, so he didn’t notice the distance between them.

As he looked up, at a close proximity he noticed the big dark circles under Lou Dong Zang’s eyes.

Without thinking, He Guan exclaimed, and said, “You’ve got dark circles like a panda. How long has it been since you last slept?”

With a face that looked as though he was perpetually on the verge of entering the coffin.

Lou Dong Zang simply said, “Closing one’s eyes is no different from sleeping.”

He Guan, “…”

Always the stubborn one, aren’t you?!

While glancing around the room, He Guan noticed the absence of a clock on the wall, leaving behind only a hole where it once hung.

Seeing this, He Guan pondered for a moment.

Even the soft ticking of a mechanical clock, although inaudible to most, might be torturous to Lou Dong Zang, whose senses of hearing and smell had heightened after his sudden blindness.

He Guan said, “The clock in this room is an eyesore. I will remove it later.”

With a listless expression, Lou Dong Zang replied, “As you wish.”

However, this posed another issue.

Lou Dong Zang didn’t need the exact hourly chimes, but he still needed a clock to know the time.

How to address this problem?!

As He Guan pondered over this, he instinctively stood up, not anticipating that his overworked calves would suddenly betray him, causing a sharp pain.

As they gave way, he found himself almost kneeling to the ground.

Before kneeling, He Guan quickly managed to say, “Move out of the—”

Lou Dong Zang surely heard him but he remained motionless.

As He Guan lurched forward, he pressed against Lou Dong Zang’s shoulders, causing Lou Dong Zang to fall backward.

Lou Dong Zang hurriedly managed to grasp onto He Guan’s forearm to stabilize himself.

After a while, He Guan narrowly steadied himself, realizing that in the process, he had inadvertently gripped Lou Dong Zang’s hair.

While tolerating the pain, he opened his eyes which He Guan had closed reflexively, “My leg cramped… I didn’t mean to—”

He Guan stopped mid-sentence. He now wished that he could keep his eyes shut forever.

Lou Dong Zang was pinned beneath him with his hair caught in his hand.

Lou Dong Zang laughed coldly and said, “A simple nudge from you could break two of my ribs. If you lean any further, I will have to be admitted to the hospital tonight. Is this your idea of satisfying me?”

Hearing the sarcasm, He Guan didn’t retort this time. He nearly scared himself to death. He could only curse silently.

Damn.

Just a centimeter away, maybe even less than that, were Lou Dong Zang’s pale lips.

The lips had creases, suggesting his body was dehydrated, and there was a slightly dark hue on it.

What kind of romance drama scenario is this??! He didn’t want it!

He Guan quickly rolled over, and sheepishly said, “I suddenly got a cramp in my calf and accidentally knelt down. I didn’t expect to knock you over. I am truly sorry.”

After He Guan got up, Lou Dong Zang also sat up without hesitation, “Hmm, you just told me that you will take good care of me, and now you almost broke two of my ribs.”

He Guan, “You really are…”

This person never allows himself to be at a disadvantage.

He Guan sat on the ground, massaging his cramped calf, and rolled his eyes at Lou Dong Zang’s insensitive comment.

Because of this event, the awkwardness between them completely disappeared.

Once his calf relaxed, He Guan cautiously got up, ensuring he wouldn’t bump into Lou Dong Zang again, and then headed downstairs.

He Guan could only regain his composure when he reached the kitchen counter and began making fish soup.

In his past life, after hearing about the news of his parents’ deaths, he tormented himself for a year.

At that time, he cared about everything except his own well-being, until he completely wore himself out.

Now, after coming back to life, he was somewhat rusty at cooking.
